The School Governance Council (SGC) is the committee that determines budget and spending priorities for Rosa Parks. Essentially, the SGC decides how to spend the money Rosa Parks gets from local, state, and federal governments. This is a great way to learn about Rosa Parks, and to guide funding decisions at the school. The committee is comprised of an equal number of staff members and parents/guardians, as well as Principal Furlan. The SGC is always chaired by a Rosa Parks parent. The SGC meets from 5:30-7:30pm, usually on the first Monday of each month in the Rosa Parks library. All meetings are open to the public and all members of the Rosa Parks community are welcome.
