Gardening and Nutrition

Name: Tanya Stiller

Position: Garden and Nutrition Coordinator

About Me:  I have been teaching gardening at Rosa Parks for since 2005, and for a couple years before that at an elementary school in Alameda and at a middle school and child development center in San Francisco.  I love gardening, working on permaculture design projects, making fermented foods and beverages (think sauerkraut and kefir sodas), and foraging for wild edibles and medicinals. Other than gardening, hiking, cycling and yoga are my physical pursuits of choice. I also still maintain a 17-year-old herbal apothecary after having my own tincture and lotion making company in in the late 1990′s. I teach some of the simpler and safer herbal remedies to the students.
