Matilde Merello (room 9)
Name: Matilde Merello
Grade: 3, TWI
Alma Mater: Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.
Favorite Book: The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.
Favorite Movie: Like Water for Chocolate.
Pets: Mrs. Blue, a cat, and Pancho, a dog.
My favorite place to travel: the Boundary Waters in Minnesotta, where you can canoe in the most pristine environment. There I learned the meaning of “gorgeous,” no dictionary needed.
My idea of comfort food: any food I grew up with, cooked from scratched by my parents.
I find teaching most rewarding when: I see children buzzing about a good book or a science experiment, with a sparkle in their eyes and grinning.
The hardest thing about teaching: it doesn’t leave a lot of untapped energy to do other things.
If I had a magic wand: I would bring peace to the Earth.
