Fundraising

While the PTA is not primarily a fund raising organization, it takes resources to maintain the PTA programs and support of the school. There are a number of ways for you to contribute - with your time, skills, talent, monetarily, project/program specific, ongoing, active, passive. Whatever your capabilities, we can put them to use for the benefit of our kids!

The Rosa Parks PTA raises funds for the following:

We will host a number of events through out the year for both Community building and fund raising. Some of these events and fund raising drives will be:

  • Dad’s Pancake Breakfast
  • Direct Donation Letter
  • Scholastic Book Fair (co-hosted with the Family Resource Center)
  • Wine and Chocolate Silent Auction
  • Wine Raffle
  • Parent’s Night Out (co-hosted with Kids Village/Family Resource Center)
  • Kids Carnival
  • Quilt Raffle

If you have questions or have other ideas for ways to give or programs you would like to see, please contact this years fund raising chair person Susan Tobes via email at or leave her a message at home at 510-644-1703.

Volunteer Your Time - Time is our most precious resource. Nothing would happen at the PTA unless we all pitch in. If you have the time, consider taking an active role in the PTA leadership as an Officer or Chairperson of one of the important committees. Or become a member of one of the committees. Don’t have that much time on a regular basis, then maybe you will be available for projects during the year. If so, Register with the Volunteer Coordinator, Shana via email at .

Monetary Donations - The most effective way to donate money to the Rosa Parks PTA is to write us a check [cash is also welcome]. We are a very efficient organization so that most of the money contributed goes to helping the children at school. Very little goes to overhead or PTA expenses. The Rosa Parks PTA is a 503 (c) nonprofit organization, meaning that all donations are tax deductable. We are happy to provide you with tax receipts, though your check will be sufficient in most cases, or to help with any matching grants your employer may have available. Our tax payer id is 94-3298267. Please contact the Treasurer, Liz Tracy via email at with any questions or comments.
